Think Theology has one goal in mind – to foster theological thinking. Say “hello” to our contributors:
Luke Geraty (Th.B, M.Div.) is a young budding Pastor/Theologian who has an interest in coffee drinks and books. He serves as a pastor @ Trinity Christian Fellowship and has been blogging for quite some time. Luke’s theological interests are the Kingdom of God (as defined by George Eldon Ladd), Reformed Theology, Eschatology, the relationship between New Covenant & Covenant Theology, Ecclesiology (specifically within the Emerging Church Movement), and Christology (specifically of the “high” variety). Luke is married to Dawn and together they have three daughters – Allana, Mikenna, and Sadie. Grudgingly, Luke admits that they have a small dog named Jack. He’s a member of the ACRC, the ETS, and a card carrying coffee lover. His library is huge, growing, and in need of your donations!
Tyler Phillips is an amateur aspiring theologian and writer. He is currently on staff with Youth With A Mission, where he works with the Discipleship Training School and the School of Biblical Foundations, as well as local and foreign missionary work. He can often be found leading worship, which is one of his passions. He writes on worship, theology, missions, Bible study and ecclesiology. He will probably be your friend if you give him coffee. Tyler has influenced many people from various denominational backgrounds to consider theology as more than just a topic for “professionals” and is a very well read and articulate spokesperson for Jesus. And seriously, give him coffee and he will talk to you… give him strong coffee and he will consider you a friend.
Casey is a believer, husband, father of two and serves as both a teacher and deacon at his church. He was pretty sure about all of his theology (Dispensational Southern Baptist in flavor) until his best friend converted to Eastern Orthodoxy several years ago. Since then, Casey is on a journey to know God and His church through the study of the Scriptures (letting them speak for themselves instead of proof texting), theology (that spans historical and denominational lines) and history. Though he’s become less sure of much of his theology, he has become more convinced of the reality and power of Christ and His resurrection. This is the most exciting journey of his life!
Paul Poppe is a follower of Jesus, a husband, and a father of five that lives in northwest Wisconsin. Paul and Keri home school their children and teach conversational English to Somali immigrants in their “free time.” Paul has a BA in Biblical Studies from Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, WI. He has a hard time walking past a good book that he hasn’t read and enjoys sports. In other words, he’s an ex- jock that reads. His favorite topics of theology are the gospel, the church, and the last days. Paul affirms the Five Solas of the Reformation, believes the gifts are still active in the church, and loves to fellowship with believers across denominational and cultural lines. Solo Deo Gloria!
Church Lady is a recent convert to Christianity and has found herself deeply entangled in the midst of a ministry. Yeah, she works with Christians now! She’s opinionated as all heck, and is making observations that constantly cause her to remind herself that she follows Jesus despite how dumb Christians can be. She’s got questions. She’s got opinions. She’s got attitude. And she’s not afraid to let loose on the dumb things that you are doing. She is currently posting as part of the witness protection program because if her identity becomes known, she will be excommunicated for asking questions and making observations.
