This post will go on record as my first attempt to share some original poetry inspired by my own reflections on some texts that mean a lot to me.
Here’s my first, entitled – “A Broken Wall.”
A Broken Wall
by Kenny Burchard
“…whoever breaks through a wall,
will be bitten by a serpent.”
A broken wall does feebly stand;
Which break was made by my own hand.
A careless act without a view;
Of foes and fiends who could march through.
The wall, a life that lacks the care;
Which leaves the city weak and bare.
Dark rivals stand and watch the gate;
Where once a sentry, pure, did wait.
Now does that plundered city stand;
Where once might have been a great man.
